they are repaired at the factory the same way as a dealer body shop would repair it...wet sanded, colour painted, then cleared in a paint booth.... how did you think they would be corrected at the factory? Only difference is you only get factory paint warranty for the repair if done at the factory and you wouldn't even know if repair was done, where most body shops give lifetime warranty.. and you are aware there was a fix so can keep an eye on the area.. I'd rather have it repaired by the dealer, but that's just me.

BUT will you have as much overspray all over the vehicle as you will get from the dealer repair? From the dealer the overspray will be everywhere except the repainted area.

Not so. When the hood, fender and door of my F350 was repainted by a dealer the roof windows and entire other side of the vehicle had some overspray. A clay bar removed it but it was a lot of work. So I know first hand it is true..............................

It was Fred Beans FORD of Boyertown Pennsylvania.

So there are bad body shops a dealers you are stating.................

That is why I would not want a dealer to repaint my not yet picked up vehicle....................

I agree. Just because he took his truck to a **** shop doesn't mean they are all terrible. This is a huge problem with any service these days. One person has an issue and tries to generalize every thing into that one bad experience. That's why I hate Facebook.

I had a great experience with my dealership and salesman, had a great experience with the shop as well. They sprayed my bed-liner and wheel wells with Line-X or something like it, not a speck of overspray anywhere but one tire, and that **** is nasty.
