Default Weird question...washer fluid?

Historically I assumed that the orange Rain X was best in class (rains a lot here, lots of bugs, lots of pollen) and I used it in all vehicles before my truck. Someone recently told me that they've been seeing it mess up the washer fluid pump, reservoir, leave a layer on the windshield, etc. I googled it (worst idea) and seems a lot more people think that than my buddy.

Truck friends, what do you use? Blue crap from O Reilly? Rain X?

Sounds silly, but if I use it a lot, and it messes up my truck, I'd prefer to stop using it.

Then stop using it! It rains here too and the bugs are thick as smoke (its black flie mania right now) and the pollen is so thick here its floating on the water in blankets -
I use the WW fluid thats blue and on sale.

Don't overthink it.

My wife and I both use rain-x fluid in our current and many prior vehicles and have for several years now. I've never seen any issues but that might be me. If you like the stuff and it works well for you I'd say take the chance as the washer pump is probably one of the cheapest, easiest things to have to replace inside the engine compartment but if you can find another fluid that works to your standards then maybe try that and don't risk it?

Been using it for 3.5 years in this truck with no issues and about 5 years in my last truck.

I've been using RainX washer fluid for nearly 15 years myself in two cars. Basically as soon as it became available back in 2004. I used it in my 1998 Grand Prix SE from 2004 to 2009 and my 2006 F-150 since 2009.

I've been using the orange RainX washer fluid for at least 10-12 years and it's the only washer fluid I use on any of my vehicles. Never had a single issue with any of it, in any vehicle. But I recall reading several threads about this in the last year or so.

I've used it for years with no issues. Green in the summer (+32F fluid), orange in the winter. It works substantially better than the blue stuff. Never replaced a pump or had issues with "film" on the windshield (besides the rain treatment it applies, which helps the water bead).

I have used the Orange Rain-X and had found some Purple Rain-X at Walmart. When I look for it online, can't seem to find it. It works great, and won't use any other brand.

I specifically use RainX in all our cars... Never had anything other then the X in my 2005 Mustang, and still have no issues with it.
