I have a 2015 f150 5.0 and keep hearing a weird noise coming from the engine and I'm not sure if it's normal or not. One of the noises is a constant ticking noise and the other is a knocking sound that sometimes goes away. I've attached the links to the videos I have.

Can you hear it with the hood down?
I don't think its normal, but only because Ive never heard it on my 5.0. I usually don't have the engine running when the hood is up but I have a few times....again, that would have gotten my attention....especially that knocking sound....It sounds like someone hitting a tire with a hammer in your video....

I have a 2016 but I would think its pretty much the exact same engine and parts under the hood.

With hood down I can't hear it. I'm guessing that I need to go to the Ford dealer and ask, like you said it doesn't sound normal

I think I would take it in if I were you. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they said it was normal....even if it isnt...

I'm gonna have to crank mine up with the hood up tomorrow and see since you said you don't hear the noise with it down....got me curious now..

My 2.7. Has the ticking sound for about 30 seconds. I figured it was exhaust til warm.
