I have a 5.0 with 3.31 gears and the cover has the 12 bolts, I have been thinking of doing a gearing swap ever since increasing my tire size but couldn't find much for the 8.8, then checked the bolts and can find any combo I want for the 9.75.
look for the tag (sticker) on the axle tube. It should tell you which rear you have...Mine says TC05A 3E55-8.8B

it's 8.8" with 3.55 e locker

I am curious as to whether it will be available with other motors in 2019 or only the 3.5L EcoBoost Max Tow configuration.
Not quite true. My 18 5.0 tow package has a 9.75 because I ordered a 3.73 locker. 9.75 also comes on 3.5 eco trucks without max tow or 3.73.

If you have a 5.0 with 3.31 you will have an 8.8, but as others have said, they look completely different and you can also read the tag on the axle.

I have a 2018 with 2.7l eco scab 6.5' bed. It has 2.7 payload package and tow package. It has the HD frame. Not the HPP frame. It has 3.73 locking diff and 9.75", not the 8.8. It also has 1944lbs payload.

My truck doesn't have an axle tag. What happened to an aluminum tag held by one of the bolts? Cheap bastages. Isn't there a build sheet somewhere inside the truck? At any rate, my diff has 12 bolts, so 9.75? I'd like to know out of curiosity. Also about the HD frame. I know it's 3.55ELD because it says on the window sticker, and has the lock switch on the dash.

8.8 on left / 9.75 on right. They both have 12 bolts. You can tell you have a 9.75 by the shape.

Look at the underside of the frame under your driver door for the frame sticker. Not sure what the light duty frame says but the heavy duty like mine will have HD somewhere on it. The even heavier duty max payload will say HPP on it.

I can tell you from your sig that you have the 9.75. Easiest way to tell is the 9.75 case tapers to the right. The 8.8 case looks the same left and right when viewed from the rear.
9.75

8.8 diff cover

If you do have the super 8.8 you may be able to use Mustang gears. I believe both the F150 and Mustang started using the super 8.8 in 15. Not 100% sure they'd work but the have 3.55, 3.73 and 4.09 available from Ford Racing.
