Are Weathertechs OR Huskey Mats Necessary?
#21
when it comes time to sell, pull them out, vaccuum up anything that got past them, put the factory new looking carpet mats back in and the truck looks new, then if the rubber mats don't fit the replacement, sell them, someone will buy them.

The new all weather rubber floor mats are better than in the Past. But they still aren't quite good enough. I thought I might be ok with the factory mats but after 2 weeks I sold them on Craigslist. As mentioned earlier, right under the accelerator is unprotected and the mats allow water to flow right into the carpet at the door hinge. I purchased wethertechs as I have for most all of my previous vehicles.Total protection, form and function.

These mats are better then both the WT's and Huskys. The Huskey's seem to fit better then the WT's but ohh the maxpiders. Perfect fit, great protection and the look is simply better then rubber mats.

Worth every penny
I live in the snow belt and usually travel with my lab that gets into everything. After I bought my truck, I stopped and bought the Weathertech mats before I got home (I live near the factory showroom). I then purchased the Covercraft seat covers. It all depends on where you live and how you use your truck - for me, it is a necessity.

Save the Manuals!
Between the salt in the winter and my kids I need the extra protection the rubber mats give.

I agree that they are not absolutely necessary but if you want to protect the carpet they are very nice and worth the price tag. I vacuum mine once a month and take a wet towel and wipe up any residue that is left behind. Kept the carpet mats to put back in when I sell. I agree about covering under the accelerator, that is where mine accumulates most of the dirt, sand and other junk.

Not only feet cause damage to carpets, spills and thrills can too. Milk get's real stinky as it sours in the carpets, champagne stays along time too. Remember to drive sober and the drinkers need a ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys,
I know a lot of you have them but are they really necessary? I live in TX and it doesn't snow here nor am I walking through mud really ever.
I know people/websites say they protect the carpet but is it really necessary if you already have the factory carpet mats?
Please answer and let me know!!!
