Default Water along driver side carpet trim

It has rained pretty heavily today and I noticed when I exited my truck at lunch that there was water (more so than normally dragged in when entering the truck on a rainy day) along the carpet trim on the driver door. There was splashes of it in the door cup holder as well.

Hmmm?

So I walked around all four doors and looked at the area above the weatherstripping and below the door cup holders. All had a line water on the painted surface in between. The driver door had the most.

I take this truck through a drive through car wash once a week and have never noticed this before, but then I am not driving 50 mph as I go through there.

I have never noticed any excess road or wind noise. I am curious as to why all of a sudden this shows up on all four doors.

I don't want to mess with the door fit in fear of introducing wind noise.

Weatherstripping appears to be in good condition.

Curious if anybody else has noticed the same thing and what if anything you did about it. Maybe add some additional after market adhesive backed weatherstripping.

What were you thinking in regards to the sun roof?

BTW I have a friend who has a platinum with sun roof and who lives in the same area and had him check his doors and they were totally dry.

Is your carpet wet under the floor mats? You should investigate further so you know if you have a serious leak. Check the back behind the seats too.

Apparently the drain tubes run down the pillars, some have experienced leaks. Just an area to look at.

If under warranty, better get to dealer.

I did a quick check under the floor mats (btw I have weathertechs). There was one spot where the carpet is wet, right underneath the left floor mat snap in on the driver side. Just that one spot. That is weird.

If the drain tubes were leaking I would expect it to be wet from the pillar all along the carpet to the snap in. But the wet spot is just centered around the snap in. I assume that the snap in is bolted through the carpet not to include going through the metal floor.

I figured out where the water on the snap in is coming from. My left foot. That is where I rest my foot while driving and the water coming off the shoe goes around the snap in on the weather tech floor mats. It is essentially a loose rivet that freely spins.

Wiped the doors down before I took off for lunch today and checked them after I returned and have the same line of water in the same spot, the length of the door. Even though it didn't rain during that time, the roads are damp from previous rain. Seems like the water is getting past the weather stripping. But I just find it hard to believe that all four doors exhibit the same issue all of a sudden at the same time.

If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will wipe the doors down again and run it through the car wash. And check it again afterwards.

One of my biggest dislikes about the truck is the amount of water that pours in when you open the doors.
