Default Washing/Waxing...what do yo use?

So Im planning to wash the truck tomorrow as they are calling for a high of 73, figured it would be a good time to wax the truck as well. So my question is...what do you use? I bought this Armor All bucket from Walmart for about 20 bucks when I got the truck about 6 weeks ago. The glass cleaner wipes are garbage, the rest seems to work pretty well. I perfer Meguiars brand from previous vehicles, but didnt know as far as soaps and what not go if something was better.

What about for a wax? We had a dust storm here about 3 weeks ago and I noticed when I was washing the truck after that I had a few light scratches in the hood. Whats a good way to get rid of those? I saw a Turtle Wax pen that said it was supposed to. Didnt know if using a compound wax would get it or not.

Already have the platinum brand towels from walmart that Im pleased with along with one of the water absorbing towels you keep damp (Sorry, the name eludes me at the moment). Those help bring a nice shine just from washing and drying with those.

in the years if been detailing i find zymol car wash is the best it's all i'll ever use, i guarantee you use it once you won't go back to anything else.

for plastic and interior i use aerospace 303 my opinion it's the best out there tray it and you will see it last very long. for glass i use sprayway and coffee filters.

allways use microfiber clothes for exterior and interior.

i sealed my truck with 3 coats of collinite 845 sealer and then did 6 coats of collinite 476 paste wax.

when you wash and wax allways do it in streight lines never swirl.

tire shine i use no touch.

just my opinion.

I used to detail cars when I was young for about 4 yrs, why not swirl with wax?

Some believe that it causes swirl marks in the paint, however if you wash your car thoroughly and dry with clean microfiber, and use a clean wax applicator, it should not be an issue. I waxed my truck a few days ago and usually swirl the wax to get a good coat, no swirl marks yet. Not necessary in my opinion if you take precaution.

When drying, I do however recommend drying in a straight line top to bottom to prevent any swirls from dirt not removed from the brush. Also straight lines when washing with soap mitt.

Dont worry about rick whater the f his name is. He like a lil troll, sits on here all day waiting for a new post to pop up and then he finds a old thread and post them to your new thread. If we all just used the search button it would be a boring forum.

I personally use all chemical guys wash and wax products. A bit more money, but you get what you pay for.

I'm pretty new to having a vehicle that I care enough to wax...but so far have used meguiars products withat seemingly good success, and methods from this forum. Tons of good info on this subject on here, and with every new thread there seems to be a new tidbit of useful information.
