Got my truck back today after I was called and told everything was taken care of that could be: leak fixed, harsh 5-4 shift was replicated and PCM flashed, cooled seats working as designed, rear clunk normal, unable to replicate rough idle.

I open my doors and my amp steps are not working, the driver seat has a weird bump in the middle and the leather is loose, wire hanging down by OBDII, and unable to replicate a wired rattle at driver side dash (forgot to mention in my original post) and a stronger musty smell than I have ever noticed. They have had it from Tuesday at 12 through today at 530pm and it has rained nearly around the clock the entire time they have had it. Wire and plug were plugged into myOBDII port and that fixed my AMP steps, I guess that's how they work. They came installed on my truck and I have never looked at them as they have worked. I am obviously irritated when the service manager comes out as they are scrambling to get this stuff squared away so I'll leave. I mention to service manager that the rear clunk is really annoying so he agrees to ride along and actually agrees that it is pretty loud and not the same as his truck. The rough idle also occurred with him in the truck during our very short ride. He says to bring it back tomorrow and they will look further into the riough idle and fix the seat. I am going to press further on the rear clunk, especially since he agrees it was louder than what he thought.

Once I got my truck home, I deceived to give it a test and see if the leak was fixed....to my total surprise, it was not. No high pressure or anything crazy. I just let the water hose run enough so that water would puddle around the grooves on the sun roof. I immediately called him and let him know and he wanted me to text him pictures, which I did.

He asked me to bring it back in tomorrow morning, which I guess I will. If they can't get it fixed this time I will certainly not take it back there. Before I left I had a salesman work me up a few figures. 59 OTD for a similarly loaded 17 Lariat and 47 OTD on an XLT with level kit 35s and added leather (I am not overly familiar with all the options on XLTs, but it had a center console, column shifter, and navigation. Neither truck had a sun roof. I owe 36k on my truck currently. I don't think they want to sale me a truck, lol.

Really hate this, but I really love this truck. I searched all over to find it and planned on holding on to it for at least ten years. It has every option that wanted when I was looking. This is pitiful, but I think I am going to try to just seal up the sun roof maybe with some vinyl wrap or something when I get it back. I can live with most of the other things they probably won't fix, but I can't stand a soured smelling interior.

Hopefully I will get better news tomorrow.

I find that food bribing my service advisors and techs works wonders. I'll bring full on Jimmy John's boxed lunches one day, cookies the next.

I have the same truck package as you pretty much. I dropped mine off today for a groaning noise coming from either the steering column or left front wheel when I make right turns. It's faint, but enough to irk me. Also the driver seat back is not cooling, the seats are loose and sometimes when I get into my truck both outside mirrors are facing way too far out and have been moved? Lol. Maybe it's a ghost.
I hope I have better luck then you do my friend!
I haven't noticed the hard 5 to 4 downshift, but I also prefer firm shifts. If Ford doesn't fix that option for you, a tuner can.

The harsh 5-4 downshift isn't "firm"... it's "horribly jarring". First time it happened to me with someone in the truck, the passenger asked "is the rear end still attached?"

Sadly, my dealer has so far been unable to replicate. It seems to happen more in hot temps, in sport mode, and always 5-4, so I'm going to take it back as things warm up.

Okay, now I know what you mean!
Not to insult your intelligence if you already know, the sport mode keeps the torque convertor locked so that could be why it's that stiff. My guess is you're feeling it downshifting as well as unlocking at the same time and maybe holding tons of line pressure. If they can't fix it for you, a tuner can dial back the line pressure and have the torque convertor lock/unlock as the shift points changed how you would like them to be!

I don't feel like I should have to bribe anyone to complete bumper to bumper factory warranty work on a 60k dollar truck.

Miraculously they were able to replicate it on mine. At least that's what they say. They documented replication and a flash of the PCM. And yes, this isn't a firm shift, it's a jarring shift. We'll see if the new IDS fixes it....

It's annoying to have to fight to get things fixed. My passenger seat rattles like its loose. I didn't even tell them. I will just see if I can fix it on my own.

I love this truck overall, but the fit and finish isn't what I expected. My 2012 screw Lariat never had any issues. I wish I had kept that truck a lot longer than I did. Actually wish I still had it.

This is true, you shouldn't have to. I have a really good dealership that I take all my vehicles to so I don't mind repaying them for the little extras they throw in every now and then. Its just my way of saying thanks.

I have thought about it over night pretty hard. I don't think I'm going to take it back, at least to my local dealership. If other issues get worse I will take it elsewhere. I am going to buy some clear vinyl wrap and seal up the sun roof. I never open it anyway. I can still open the cover and get the light, I just won't be able to have the glass open. Pretty crappy solution, but like I say, I dont open it anyway. At least it won't leak!

Pretty sure I will never buy another vehicle with a sun roof.
