I asked the sales guy today if Ford was still building the 15s and he said they had just stopped recently. I guess I'd better act fast if this is true so I can still find a good deal.
There is a mod on here that you can pull four wires and do away with that stupid fake sound. I did and could not be happier.

You can also ask your dealer to turn it off in IDS.

Agreed. I have the slight melt marks on the inside of my upper cargo light. Probably an easy fix. Build date 8/2015. Other that that, my 2.7 is the best vehicle ive ever owned. People are very OCD about there expensive new toys. I get that.

I love my truck just like my wife loves me. And like my truck I'm 99.9% perfect,, but she keeps trying to get me to 100% perfect by bitching about that .1%. And I do the same about my truck.

But she didn't pay $50,000.00 for me. And I didn't come with a warranty.

Mine is a 8/2015 build date too and I have not experienced any issues that cause me to regret my purchase.

I do have only slight melt marks on the cargo lamp.

Also I did have a clear coat spotting problem on the hood the day I took delivery, but having worked on a Ford truck assembly line in the past, I know this type of thing just affects my truck, not all trucks.

The dealer corrected the issue the next day by swapping the hood with another bronze fire that came in the same day from the same plant (Dearborn).

I did have an overly aggressive driver's lumbar that DID make me regret the truck (it was killing my back), but I quickly found a DIY solution (which I posted online here with photos).

So overall, I don't regret the truck... I don't feel I have any issues with my 8/2015 build date on an XLT.
(note: I don't have leather seats, no adaptive cruise control).

I own the same truck that you are buying. It was a very late May build and I've had the following issues:

1. seat blower motors - TSB 'fixed' this
2. 5-4 hard downshift - TSB definitely fixed this
3. broken rear door latch - after 3 visits to the dealership this was fixed
4. bad tire pressure sensor - after 3 visits to the dealership this was replaced
5. driver's seat leather is stretched (I'm 190lbs) - TSB is issued, need to get it fixed
6. glove box doesn't close flush on the right side - TSB is issued, need to get it fixed
