This is the way I went. The driveshafts are less than 1/4” difference with the 8.8 shaft being the longer one.

8,8 with 3.73
Not all 3.73 are 9.75, I have 2108 XLT SuperCab 2.7 with 3.73 locking and 8.8. Only way to get 9.75 with 2.7L was HDPP, but then no 302a.

I just picked up my 2019 5.0L with 3.73 gears. Has the 9.75 rear end. I was told that checking the 3.73 box would get me that rear end. First thing I looked at when I took delivery.
EDIT - Does anyone have pictures of a factory 3.73 setup on an 8.8? I know this can be done aftermarket...

might have an axle for you
I know this discussion is old but I have a take off rear axle in awesome condition (3000 miles). It is off a 2021 - 9.75, 3.73 e locker, electronic brakes, but there is a good possibility it would fit your truck. Check out the classifieds in the 2021 for sale if you are in the bay area.
