How did you do the chrome around the air vents? I keep getting blinded when the sun hits it. Was it a sticker or did you take it off and wrap it?

Yah, I took the vents out, and then disassembled the direction blades from them (they just have tabs) and then wrapped the chrome part on its own. Cut a whole piece over the size of the chrome, and then stick it flat on, cut relief in the middle and then work your way around wrapping using heat and pressure, ensuring you have a good anchor on the backside to prevent the lifting. Reassemble and the chrome has a recess that sits in the trim and all of it holds together.

I initially did it because my chrome was squeaking going down the highway, it was aggravating, in the end it looks great and I get asked about it all the time, even at the dealership

Did you have to take the door panel apart to do this? I want to do the door insert as well, looks great!

I can offer some help. Pop the top panel where the middle speaker is. Two screws hold it down and it has 3 clips on the front (right above the stereo) where it clips into the stereo surround faceplate. Pop that top panel then the stereo surround pulls out toward the back of the truck. 6 or 8 clips hold it in. Disconnect the wiring to give yourself room to work with. There is another panel that is held on with 2 screws right above the media bin door in question.

remove the center console top trim. Its held in with clips. Once that is removed, the media bin is held in with a couple of clips and a screw on either side.

Here is a video with a rundown.

How did you manage to wrap this around the silver parts. I can’t seem to cut it so it falls around these 2 pieces. The SYNC isn’t hard but the lever is too hard for me.
