Just wanted to say big thanks for this thread and Airborne Ape's work & guidance. I ran into giant headaches trying to update a 2016 F150 Lariat for Apple CarPlay. Purchased the new USB hub and updated Ford Sync 3 from 1.0 to 3.0 using the latest version from the Ford site. CarPlay failed to work after the update, but worse yet all the navigation voice disappeared. I got the "Voice Recognition Not Ready" message when hitting the voice button. Tried re-installing with a larger-capacity USB stick, etc., but nothing worked. Saw other folks here were told it was a faulty APIM module so got a little worried.

But using Airborne Ape's files to upgrade to 3.4 fixed everything. Sync 3.4 works flawlessly on my 2016, as does CarPlay. So THANK YOU.

P.S. One note for others trying this upgrade: you'll get two "Installation Complete, Remove USB stick" messages while installing Folder 2A. Ignore the first one. Leave the USB stick in until the reformatting finishes (you'll see a progress bar and some random Ford imagery).

Actually, it seems there are newer maps than JRSBill's link provides. I'll have to check my truck in a minute.

Yeah, 2021 maps (2 21) are available, see links two posts down. Replace the map files in JRSBill's link with the new ones and build your autoinstall.LST to match.

Speaking of JRSBILL, haven't seen him on this thread in long time. He spent a lot of time helping members including myself.

I don't know what maps AA has in his links without downloading them again, but you can get the latest map files (2 21) here. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/upgra...1/#post7216341
It's a bit complicated but not too hard,
Thanks to @leonmckee and @c54dan for the file list here
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/upgra...1/#post7219184

With these files and filelist you can build a USB stick to upgrade to the latest/greatest.

Is EZ going to be the end of updates for the 3.4 build, with Sync 4 going into 3rd year on some Fords and Lincolns?

There is another build that is in the works, SYNC3.4 22200 NU5T-14G381-AA. The Italian who runs the Fmods website is reporting this version is close to being released to production and then will be available on the Ford FTP site. If it will be released to the general public, that is another question. The way to decipher builds, 22 = year and 200 = day of the year.
