Upgrade Sync 3 V3.0 to V3.4 instructions
Hey guys I just did the latest and greatest update for my 2016 with the Cyan Sync3 updater app. (34.22110) It took while but no problems. Updated maps to 2021 also. One question and thing I noticed... during the update process it rebooted a few times, I believe on the first reboot the display came up with some VERY cool looking theme, sort of light brown, with very different futuristic looking app icons and fonts. What the heck theme was that??! It rebooted again then it did the map updates,, then after the final reboot it came back with my regular theme. I know the trick how to do the test themes but I can't find it??
Do you have Lincoln themes enabled? Brown supposed to be Lincoln
You can install 3 3 on its own

I googled the theme that I seem to be missing. Its called Lincoln Timeless. I also seem to be missing a few other themes that I see others have. Ford Classic, Ford GT and a few more... not sure why they are missing .. especially since Sync3 defaulted to the Lincoln timeless theme while i was updating.

If you have a 2017 you are fine. Just leave it. I have OCD and wanted a USB C port on my 2017. That is all. It adds no benefits.
On 2015 with a retrofit or 2016 an updated hub is required to enable CarPlay due to throughput bottlenecks in older parts.

It is not required.
