Just out of curiosity. About how much did this whole process cost. I am in the same boat as you in wanting to do the same thing. Just not sure if I am wanting to shell out the cash.

bought all radio parts for $500 and 4 wires for the APIM plug for $21. So cost $521.00 US

found a wrecked truck. He didn't even have the radio or anything listed. Was selling door panels ect off of it. Saw he had MFT and I ran the vin to see if it was close to my package. Only difference was heated seats so I emailed him directly and made him a offer.

Just wondering if you could elaborate a little more on what you had to rewire and re pin or would it be obvious once I was looking at wiring diagrams
