X2 on this question. Do we really need to replace the radio or can that stay in place and we just replace the bezel, screen, and APIM?

The ACM only needs to be replaced if you are going from non HD radio to HD radio and/or non Sirius to Sirius.

I am looking to put SYNC 3 into my truck. I know I will need a new APIM and screen plus the bezel. Does the APIM need to come from a 2016 F150 or did the 2015 F150's have SYNC 3 as well? I guess I am wondering what the difference is between MFT and SYNC 3?

2015 had MFT

MFT will most likely not be updated any more. Sync 3 will be. To many other differences to list really

So then I should grab an APIM out of a 2016 F150 that had SYNC 3 in it and not a 2015 F150?

Hoping to do this soon as well. Just scored a minty clean bezel from a Lariat.

Also the good news is that the new bezel has a hill descent switch ...so I might do that as well.....also thinking of adding heated seat pads and modules as the bezel has buttons for it.

It's gonna be an expensive month

Is it just me, or did anyone else's usb from the small screen not fit into the new apim? I saw no mention of it in the thread... Help?

There are different ends depending on the APIM. You'll either need to get the cable that goes with the new APIM, or just get a regular USB cable off of eBay or Amazon with the correct ends, there is nothing special about the Ford cable besides the ends.

I just ordered a new sync 3 display GL3Z 10D885SA, was wondering if apim comes with it. I dont think it does, i also just purchased a sync 3 apim off ebay and a bezel from ebay. Does any one have a link to some good info on making a plug and play harness for a 2015 with 4.2 screen. I have looked at the mustang link but it doent seem to be real clear.
