I have always let them drill holes in previous cars/trucks, I really have no problem with it but in this case I thought it would be useless.

What you said about the oxidation... do you think krown would prevent that from happening? I asked when they applied it and they said the majority of the research is on steel and rust (not aluminum and oxidization) so they are not sure until a few years passes and they get feedback on the f150. If nothing else it was his honest answer.

But I like your reasoning ... and honestly it can't hurt so next time I will probably let them do it.

Yeah I don't think it could hurt anything. It displaces moisture. I had mine sprayed as soon as I got it. Time will tell I think, how the aluminum stands up to the eliments. my biggest concern when I had mine done last year was if the Krown would have any adverse affects on the adhesives that hold the trucks together. Then I just said oh well, we'll find out lol. So far it's been a year and nothing bad.

Since I couldn't find the answer anywhere I figured this was a good thread to ask this question. Are the front and rear bumpers steel or aluminum?

I haven't got mine done yet but a friend of mine did and the local Krown dealer told him there was enough factory holes or access points that they didn't have to drill and also didn't want to in case they introduced iron filings to the aluminum promoting corrosion between the two metals. I can't see it hurting anything especially when the frame, bumpers, brake lines and so on are still made of steel.

I wouldn't be too worried about getting iron filings from the drill bit, aluminum is way softer than the drill bit. But you are right about the aluminum/steel corrosion issue. The trucks are built with some sort of washer isolating any steel/aluminum contact. Something to keep in mind if you ever install mudflaps.

Im in Alberta right now but I have to drive a good 2 1/2 hours to get to the Krown place. I have my car done every year and I want the frame of my 2016 F-150 sprayed. I don't think I'd ask to drill.
