If you dont need the bigger trailer i would get the smaller but like others have said, the bigger one will be easier to back up. Small trailers jack knife almost instantly lol



Exact same thing happened to me on my first real tow. Borrowed a 6x12 flat deck to pick up 2 pallets of slate and just loaded them on without paying attention to how it was loaded. Left the store and got on the freeway, got up to about 80km/hr and she was so squirelly in the back i thought for sure i was going to lose it. Managed to save it and pulled over to throw away my boxers and once i regained composure i had to hand bomb some of the slate around to even it out.
Just learned this a couple months ago but if you have trailer brakes and you feel the trailer is getting squirelly you're supposed to engage the trailer brakes(by hand) to slow the trailer down

Just going to point out the Queen Mattress size is 60"x80" (plus a depth), while the door of the 5x9 trailer is 48"Wx58"H. You can likely bend a queen mattress in there, but good luck with a queen box spring. The 6x12 gets you to a 60"W x 58"H door opening.

Thanks for all your input. Greatly appreciate it.. My only issue is the mattress. The box spring won't be a issue. The bed came with two twin box springs.

Mattresses are, in most cases, cheap. Unless you have some multi-kilobuck mattress, sell what you've got and buy something when you get to your destination. Save the money on the bigger trailer if you don't need it.

I tow 6X12s all the time, and I've put king size mattresses in them. It'll fit, but you have to put it in at an angle. Load the mattress first or you won't be able to maneuver it around the other stuff.

Be sure to check it out and make sure it's all hooked up properly even take pics i know a horror story .Ps why the hell would anyone move to Washington from Louisiana lol

I have towed probably 6k miles in the past couple years with 6X12 U-Haul trailers. You will hardly know it's back there. Like already stated, just look the trailer over to make sure everything appears in order and make sure the tires are all aired up properly.

Can't do that with surge brakes. There is no controller for them in the cab.

I went today and really checked out the 6x12.. I noticed it only has a 4 pin plug... Shouldn't it have the 7 pin plug for the brakes..????? I'm leaning more now to just getting the 6x12 trailer. But, this plug thing really threw me.. What am I missing?
