Regardless, the 2015 is back to mechanical.
Yep. Whatever mechanism that clicks and locks the switch in on position has broken requiring me to hold it down.

Exactly - one more thing to go wrong.

Sad to see Ford go backwards with this. I wonder if a 2011-2014 might be retrofitted but I doubt it.

Interesting... Noticed the turn signal actuation difference on my new 15 also. I like it ALOT better and figured that it was an upgrade. Also like the high beam actuation (push forward for high beams, back to flash) without delay or the slight lag in switching down to low beams that the previous generation had. That always bugged me!

Should have taken the blue pill man. Our work trucks have the digital or whatever signals and I liked them after summiting the learning curve. I agree with whoever above they feel more high class/from the future.

To sum up my experiences, I would say that the new switch is more ""deliberate" and more precise in its actuation. I don't care if it is electronic or not, it just feels less sloppy in its function. It also allows a much faster dimming function which I really like. The previous design had a noticeable "lag" when you tried to click off the high beams, which has made it more difficult to avoid blinding others sharing the roadway. It was also less intuitive in its operation, at least for me.

Sure, it is just a light switching mechanism, but it is something many of us use everyday, over and over. Ford sweated the details on this, which is something that probably no one would even notice on a typical test drive. Try the new design, I would say that it is an upgrade in every way and a good example of excellent engineering of even the "smaller" things in this truck generation.

Maybe I didn't get much sleep last night but can someone explain to me the difference between the two?

I would say my past 2003s and current 2013 are both mechanical and electrical.

Please explain.

the 09-14 lever always comes back to the "center" position. When you click it to engage the turn signal, it always comes back. You have to flick it the other way to stop the blinking.
Apparently the '15 stay "down" if you click left, "up" if you click right. then you have to manually bring it back to center when you want (i hope it comes back by itself after you made a turn)
As far as the high beams, it's a matter of personal preference, I dont think I'd care either way.
