Only $15K? Even with the airbag? Thats 1500 - 2000 alone! Don't know if Ford changed it any, but earlier models needed to have the column replaced because there is a sensor tied to the airbag that is not serviceable. Might have only been for certain vehicles, but was mentioned that the F150 used the same module.

Hate when poles just leap out in front of you, sure did a lot of damage.

I wonder can you have them replace it with a 2018 front end?

Just found out it needs a new frame because of the bent front end. The $15K estimate was from the adjuster that couldn't see the small bend in the frame. Unfortunately it's now been totaled.

What do you plan to replace it with?

I'm really shocked to hear it's totaled. My friend's truck looked about the same, had a bent frame even. They pulled the engine, removed the front frame section and put a new section in. They expressed concern that the block may be cracked, so maybe that happened to yours?

Friend of mine totaled his 2017 3 weeks after he got it. Though he was going to lose his butt in the process. Little hint he got from an insurance broker, do let the insurance company base the value of your vehicle off the purchase price, use the window sticker number. Rebates/Incentives/Negotiating off the purchase price is none of the insurance companies business.

Seeing all the spots circled that need repair, and the blown air bag, I was surprised the quote was only 15K and not a total. That is a lot of aluminum body work to do.
