By the way, I have more than one photo of 700+ miles on one tank of gas with my Ecoboost. One with a 20.9 mpg average and one with a 21.1 average.

how many "Eco" engines have you and fe..... built. I have absolutely no experience building engines. However I do have experience with lighting a 5 gal tank with 2.5 gal of fuel under pressure. It certainly delivers more (HP) then that same 2.5 gal not in a confined space under pressure. I thought this was part of the Eco engine. O2 and pressures similar to a diesel. Yes pushing a block down the road is not ideal. That's why they try to make engines more Eco/efficient while at the same time not having the engine blow up in your face. Right?? Just my thoughts and observations.
nope, the fuel consumption is actually higher with more pressure since there is more mass of air in the same volume. Regardless of what conditions are pressure the engine needs to maintain the same stoichiometry (air-fuel ratio) to get max efficiency, emmissions and to controll combustion temps.

What is so hard to understand? There is no replacement for displacement. When you have a little bitty V6 pulling around that much weight (even with its weight loss it's still a very heavy vehicle) it's gonna be boosting its ***** off a lot more often. Thus using more fuel. It's the EB dilemma.

I want to see a towing test at altitude and see who comes out on top. The Davis Dam Road in AZ test is great, but it would be interesting to see a 2.7, a 3.5, a Silverado and a Ram go from Denver to Vail and get into some thin air. It would only matter for folks in Albuquerque or Denver I guess. My wife's 2014 4-Runner gets sluggish when we head up.
