Sorry to hear about your situation. Good to hear that both you and your daughter made it through what could have been something worse. Thanks very much or sharing this with the rest of us.

Who cares whether it was a higher power, engineering or whatever you both sustained no injuries is all that counts.

The only thing that really matters is you and your daughter walked away unhurt or worse. I'm sure you and your daughter will have "flashbacks" which will recede over time but will always be there. Make sure you talk with her a lot about what happened and give her assurance it was an extremely RARE thing that happened... IMO.
It illustrates just how tenuous life really is and be thankful for everyday.....
BTW I'm glad you all were in a well built F150 and not some tiny tin can Prius...

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I thanked Ford for a safe vehicle but I go to bed every night and thank God that we weren't hurt and the crash wasn't worse. But you are right, the memory haunts me every time I get behind the wheel and I look at things from a different perspective.
As for replaying that night over, I have a million times. I'm not sure there was anything I could have done to avoid an accident. He was determined to hit me in some way, shape or form. Had I nailed it and pulled away, he may have turned into my bed and made it worse as I would be going faster. Or slammed me at the next stop sign. Had I stopped suddenly so he passed, he may have threw it in reverse and backed into me or quickly turned around and hit me head on like the RR.
I was in a neighborhood with 35 mph posted speed, large stone mailbox posts for every driveway, no street lights, a culvert on both sides of the road, and was coming up to a creek with guard rails going downhill with a GTI coming the other way. I knew something had to give. At the last minute, his headlights dropped behind my peripheral so I thought he was going to fall in behind me, and as it happened, I thought he clipped my bed in doing so but you can clearly see it was the doors he hit, not my bed.
Anyway, thanks for the comments...be safe out there.

Once had a guy pull out in front of me at the last second, I was in a commercial truck, I tee boned him and he died. I always had a different perspective every time I see a vehicle ready to pull out, one hand on the horn, and ready for the brake.
