Default Truck bed Storage.. Let's see & hear your system!

So I'm battling with the ever-existing problem of storage! I like to keep the inside cab as clutter free as possible, but I also like to carry a bunch of "just is case" crap lol.. bungee cords, ratchet straps, gorilla glue/tape, rope, tow strap, jumper cables, heavy duty garbage bags, etc... I don't want my new 2018 SCAB to become the cluttered mess that was my 2010 XLT. I have a locking bed, and a hard tri-fold tonneau cover. So the entire bed is a (semi) secure looked area. I was thinking of keeping what I mentioned in the bed, under the cover, instead of in the cab. I have seen guys use milk crates in the bed, soft waterproof bags or sacks, or heavy duty "sportsman" style plastic trunks, rubbermaid tubs, etc... Anyone on here use anything similar? How do you secure the crate/trunk in the bed, to keep it from sliding all over the place? Any ideas and or pix would be great. Thanks fellas'.. drive safe.

If you're not talking about carrying a garage's worth of items, I'd suggest taking a look at the underseat storage bins from DU-HA (and there are others). Had one in my last SCab--'09 XLT--and had to put another in my '18 SCab XL. They'll hold a lot of stuff and they're legal for carrying long guns, if that's your thing. Come in black, grey, and tan, I believe. Way better than a milk crate bungee-corded to the bed tie-downs! I ordered it from Realtruckdotcom and it was on sale for $180 with free shipping--got it in less than 4 days.
Here's a pic:

^ Thanks so much for the info. That's not a bad system at all. Does it affect the rear seats at all, or do they still completely open/unfold when someone has to sit back there?

I have the DU-HA in my SCREW and it is amazing. With the seats folded down, the seats function perfectly. It is a little pricey, but worth it. I keep all my tools and valuables under there. Battery powered drill, air compressor, tools, jumper cables, rags and towels, ratchet straps and bungee cords, umbrella, etc. I leave the seat down all the time so completely out of sight at all times. I also have a tri fold BakFlip and have tons of stuff in the back. With the SCREW, I have the 5.5 bed so I just took a 2x6 and cut the exact width of the bed to fit into the slots at the back. Put some screws in the 2x6 with the heads sticking up and then took zip ties and tied my crates in front of the 2x6 (drilled small holes in the totes to run zip ties thru) and it keeps stuff from sliding around. Put smaller items and other weather resistant and highly used items behind the 2x6 for easy retrieval when opening the tailgate. Works pretty good, have had it like that for over a year. If I need to remove, I just cut the zip ties, and remove the 2x6 and away I go.

Doesn't affect the seat function at all, at least in the SCab, but as you can see, the seat bottom still folds up/down and latches in the up/open position. Do the SCrew seats do something different?

Exclamation

+1 on the DU-HA. It's a great product, however after owning it for almost a year, I plan to put it away or sell it on CL because I needed a smaller storage so the dog has more leg room. If I had to get another one I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. The replacement I'm getting is on its way and I'm hoping it'll fit we shall see:

Everyone is on the Tonneau cover fad but a toolbox is so much more useful for this reason.

I forgot to mention that I have a DECKED system so ALL of my tools (and junk) that are rarely used are in there. The smaller storage I mentioned above has my common tools I use.

Why not have the best of both worlds. I have a Husky low profile toolbox for tools and just in case items, but have a soft cover made for beds with a toolbox from extang. Still have good access to most of the bed, and mostly waterproof. I have made several longer trips and managed to keep luggage dry even during heavy rain.
