Im looking to do the trans fluid and filter myself. What brand and type fluid and filter should I be using? I dont want to pay the crazy dealership price. Thanks

You probably should be putting some vehicle information as to what year, engine, and transmission. That would help with getting useful answers. Also, the owner's manual has the information that you are looking for as well. Good luck.

I think I paid just under $9/quart for the OEM Trans Fluid (Mercon LV) from the ford dealer when I flushed my 6R80. I used about 5 quarts since not all of it drains out. I felt this was pretty reasonably priced.

RockAuto - $6.05 for LV, plus tax and shipping. Buy it in the 5-quart jug, even cheaper.

Sorry. Forgot the earlier f150s didn't have the 10 speed. It's a 2018 5.0 with the ten speed.

The specs and quantity are in your owners manual. So is the replacement schedule. Beyond that, brand doesn't matter much if at all. Feel free to purchase by price which is pretty easy to do with an Internet search.
