Default Trailseal tailgate seal question

Just wondering if anyone has used the Access Trailseal tailgate seal or anything similar and how it worked.

Just got my tonneau last week and traveled in some snow this weekend, seems like quite a bit of snow ended up in the bed (a lot more than with my 2011). Looking for a solution that might work.

Two trucks now with covers, and both with tailgate seals.
Performs a couple of functions...keeps the spray and dust out of the back of the bed, and helps the tailgate close more securely/tightly. For about $20 it's a worthy addition to anyone with a cover that wants to keep a bit of the weather out.

Now, you still have holes in the bed, etc.

While I don't have one of these particular seals on my truck, I did get some weather stripping from the hardware store in an attempt to seal my tailgate better so my tonneau keeps things more dry inside, but it will take a mighty large piece of weather stripping to completely seal the F150 tailgate. I've climbed inside my bed with the tailgate shut and there are quite a few gaps to deal with to seal it all the way up. Lots of light coming in even with the weather strip that I've installed.

Default ACCESS® TRAILSEAL® Tailgate Gasket

I made this video in February for another F150Forum member who had questions about our TRAILSEAL. Maybe it might be useful to you.

I'm a big fan of the product, but I sell them, so I'm clearly biased. But if you have any questions for me, I'm happy to help.

Had similar issues with my tonneau cover & some of the minimal dusty roads that I travel.
I simply bought a similar looking product off Ebay.

Adding the seal helps, but you also have to fill all of the gaps along the bed walls & floor.
Climb inside, shut everything up, & have someone run around the underside with a flashlight & it'll light up the inside like a disco ball.

I simply filled the seam with some silicone caulk.
Worked, keeps everything much cleaner in the box.

Never seen this before. Just did a search and see they make them for the 09-14s as well. Curious how well it sticks to a bed that's been sprayed?

It's also available as an accessory, right from Ford ($27.53 US):

I put one on my truck over the weekend. The bottom of the tailgate seals good. The sides seal good from the bottom to about 3/4 up and the gap gets too large for the seal to fill the gap. The shape of the tailgate side is not straight, it is curved and you have to adjust the seal so that the tailgate doesn't shut too tight. If the tailgate is too tight and you have the remote tailgate, it will not pop because there is too much pressure from the seal. The seal can be adjusted towards the tail lights and it will still seal but not so tight as to prevent the auto tailgate from opening.

I can post pics of how I installed mine if anyone is interested.

It stick to the inside where the tailgate latches. Let's call it the (tailgate jam) where paint is still visible.
