Trailer lights work on old truck, not on new truck - any advice?
I have an old 40 year old boat trailer. Doesn't have trailer brakes, just brake lights, right and left turn signals.
Worked on my old truck and currently works just fine on my Dad's 2016 Suburban.
But when hooked into my 2018 f150 I get the error messages of "not connected" and none of the lights fire.... any thoughts?

What connector type?
I'd guess grounding, regardless, if you're not getting any lights at all. I had a sled trailer that worked on my Xterra but not on the truck; when I dug into the wiring, the ground wire in the harness was bad and I think it was grounding through the ball on the Xterra, but the truck didn't like that.

Tried cleaning the truck’s trailer light plug sockets?
My bud’s new f150 had some kind of anti corrosive coating on them from the factory.
Pecked out on my iPhone.

Get a 7 pin/4 pin tester and test the socket on the truck. If the problem is with the truck, this will tell you exactly which wires are not working.

Check the fuse first, you never know it might be something simple. Is there any chance the plug under the dash that some people undo to bypass the auto stop start was left undone? Your trailer lights won't work if it's unplugged.
