Yeah I agree about the dealer..

Don't you have to tell it which trailer you are connecting? For example, I delete the trailers I have in there.. create a new one boat1.. when I connect boat1 I need to tell the truck that it is connected right? You are saying that the truck will say "trailer connected" on the dash? I have never seen that before when I have chose a trailer..

Mine says "Trailer Connected" even before I have selected a trailer in the IPC menu. Mine also will tell me if there is a fault in the trailer wiring. 2 weeks ago it told me I had a right blinker fault and went to check the wires and sure enough, one was lose behind the light. Reattached and has been working fine since.

Ok, I have never had it tell me that a trailer was connected. Do you think that is why I am not getting brake or turn signals?

Yes, you will get a message that says "trailer connected". I will connect one tonight and post exactly what I get since I don't pay much attention to it. I have 4 trailers saved.

I back up to the trailer, leave the truck running, connect trailer and by the time I get back in the truck the trailer is up and running.

You don't have to tell it which trailer is connected for the lights to work, only to keep track of miles for that particular trailer. Once you plug the trailer in and then step on the brake you should get a message on the dash saying trailer connected. Mine defaults to whatever trailer I used last. All of this only applies if you have the smart trailer connector. My XLT 302a has it.

Yes, no trailer, no power for lights. If I plug a trailer in and try to check the lights they don't work, it takes a minute or two.

Yeah I have 4 trailers as well and I have never seen that message. I have tried the 4 pin and 7 pin and neither work.. I just purchased a boat last week and I got a message that I have never seen, it said something like "Trailer battery not charging". I don't even have a battery on that trailer or any of my trailers.

I don't think I have the smart trailer connector.. How do I know if I have that?
