Default Trailer lights NOT working ?????

Want to pull my boat trailer and trailer lights aren't working ? Trailer is new and I have a 4 flat/7round RV adapter that plugs into my 2016 F150 XLT super crew V8
Has anyone had this issue ? Looked at fuses seemed ok At a glance

I just posted something similar in the Towing section. my 2015 is doing basically the same thing.

https://www.f150forum.com/f82/2015-t...-issue-376010/

I know the 2011-2014s had something about needing to install a fuse and relay, and the bag was in the glove box.Not sure if this is the same with the 15+ models

Not to be a dick but are the trailer lights working? Have you picked up a tester to see if the issue lies with the truck or the trailer itself? I know with trailers (especially boat trailers) bad grounds are a common issue.

Maybe I am misreading what you wrote but why are you using an adapter? Plug right into the 4 pin plug and see if the problem goes away

It should work in either , easy with 7 RV plug , less chance of damaging plug

I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago. The connector on the back side of the bumper where the trailer connector plugs in had become disconnected so neither the 4 pin or 7 pin would provide power to the trailer lights. Its a simple push to lock connector and it's very apparent when it locks in. Might want to check that.

The truck should work right from the factory. Is this the first trailer you've connected to the truck? If nothing is working, it's usually the ground wire (the white one).

My trailer lights won't work if my headlights are in the auto position
