Thank you folks. I do have the square to check 'trailer blind spot', but didn't know I had to set up a trailer first for that. I knew about the trailer setup, but thought it was only if you wanted to use the trailer backup crap (which I don't). Read the manual and it's very vague, but will try to set up another U-Haul trailer I'll need next week to move (this time 6x12) before connecting it. Since it's only 6' wide, BLIS should work. Will keep you posted. Hope I can set it up .

Yes. That is the truck reminding you that you forgot to go to Select Trailer and actually SELECT that trailer for THAT trip. You still have to do that even though you only have one trailer set up. And, after you finish towing the trailer, it will keep telling you that a trailer is selected until you go BACK into Select Trailer and select No Trailer Selected. The truck should do that stuff by default, but it doesn't.

Yesterday, the trailer info was setup. Couldn't get past the "no conventional trailer selected" message in the trailer settings. Tried everything every which way to Sunday and back yesterday but failed to get BLIS w/trailer activated. The setting screen was not showing the options either. Weird. Fast forward to this morning. Didn't alter anything, selected the trailer before plugging it in and hooking it up, and went for a drive around the block. BLIS was disabled by default, setting screen wouldn't show the option. After a couple of minutes, I pulled to the side of road. Went to the setting screen and there it was - the option to activate BLIS and BLIS w/trailer. Weird. Tested it in light traffic and it does work. I'm happy it works but I believe Ford could make the setup process for BLIS activation a lot easier.

Now I hope the second trailer isn't as difficult to setup.

Thanks for the help all.

I have had the same issue. Apparently it defaults the BLIS to off when a trailer is plugged in, dumb as hell.
Had it fixed and then recently issue came back. Unable to turn on BLIS is the Settings menu. Brought to dealership, stumped the hell out of the mechanic as in setting, I lost all but one option. They did a hard reset, aka disconnected the battery for 15 minutes. All setting options returned. 2 days later, lost the settings again. They suggested until Ford gives them a fix to disconnect battery to get the BLIS working.
I guess we will wait and see.

Thought is was only me glad to find out others are having the similiar issues. Mine works but one has to re-select trailer length about every time no matter which trailer has been selected. Use default longest length on all my trailers and still have to re-enter length to get it to work. May help others but it is a PIA. My passengers always are amused by all this trickery and finally we can go. Not going to ask the dealer because it's going to be something about the trailer. Like it when it is working.

I'm glad to find a thread on this issue because I have it too. My truck is equipped with all the trailering options - Pro Backup Assist, HDPP, BLIS et al, and Trailering BLIS. Yesterday I set up my first trailer, a 4x8 flatbed. I read the manual and supplemental towing instructions multiple time and was very careful with all the measurements, including the overall length, and sticker placement. The backup assist works brilliantly, the truck deactivates BLIS when the trailer (4-pin connector) is plugged in. I find no option to activate BLIS with the trailer. Unplug the trailer, BLIS is back to normal. Also, with trailer unplugged, the towing screen indicates No Trailer. This is as it should be but I was expecting to have to manually select a "No Trailer" setting.

There is very little information in the manual about BLIS with a trailer. It's starting to sound like there is a secret setup/hook-up order. Maybe choose the trailer first then plug it in or maybe it's the other way around on odd days of the month. I've only had one go at it but get a couple more chances this week. I'll report back here if I find anything definitive, else I'll just whine that this feature is flaky.

Staying tuned,

Are you going into the SELECT TRAILER screen and actually selecting that trailer every time you hook it up? That is a necessary step.

Mine uses to work before the body shop at the dealer "fixed" my front bumper from.hitting at deer. Now my back up assist works still but blis does not. I plug in all info and it does not recognize that there is a trailer attached. The idiot light on the dash show blis is off to. And my monetary turn signal blinks 5 times instead of 3. Isn't 3 the normal? I s
don't know why mine does 5 now with trailer plugged in.
auto shop manager and techs don't know how to fix the blis.

The blinker ALWAYS blinks 2 extra times when a trailer is detected. Always has, you just never noticed. The truck is doing exactly what it would be expected to do if you hook up a trailer, but don't go into the SELECT TRAILER screen and select that trailer. You have to do that even though the truck displays the TRAILER DETECTED screen.

I worked on this some more today - deleted and added the trailer twice with all the measurements including the length and option for Trailering BLIS. Still no BLIS. The BLIS OFF indicator on the dash is lit.
I'm selecting conventional trailer, selecting trailering BLIS, putting in all the measurements.
I've tried selecting the trailer before and after plugging it in, no difference. The truck detects when the trailer is plugged in. I can see in the settings menu that Trailering BLIS is OFF, but it's not possible to enable it.
It says that no conventional trailer is attached. The trailer is a 4x8 flatbed with a 4-pin connector, no brakes. I don't have a braked, 7-pin connector trailer to compare to.
The Pro Backup Assist works perfectly. At about 1000-1100 lbs, the trailer tows effortlessly.

I'm getting used to BLIS and I miss it when the trailer is plugged in.
