Traded 5.0 for a 3.5
I pick up my new 2017 tomorrow. Its another XLT extremely similar to my 2015.
I am however going in blind when it comes to the ecoboost. I have never even driven one! New motor new transmission! I dont know what to expect. It was just such as good deal I could not pass it up. I am going to miss the v8 sound but welcome the torque! I will report back tomorrow evening after I get to drive it and give my thoughts on the powertrain.

I've been driving my new 2018 Lariat 3.5EB with the 3.55 rear end for a week now. I love it! Never owned the 5.0, so I can't compare it, but this truck is great! Heaps of power, and I'm finding the 10 speed super smooth. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Nice! I wanted an 18 so bad! This 17 just was too good to pass on. I love the 18 grill.

That’s what I have. Finest engine/transmission combo I’ve ever driven. Every day is a pleasure. It takes some getting used to. I consider the normal transmission mode to be eco. It wants to lug and stay in high gear. It takes a fair amount of throttle input as opposed to other vehicles I’ve driven. Sport mode is a blast. Give it almost 1k miles to learn your driving style. I’ve actually gotten so used to mine I can literally wiggle my toes and force an up shift. Even though I don’t pay for my gas I still try to get the most mpg I can.
Best of luck to you.

You are trading up 2 model years to a truck that is already outdated?

Any reason for moving from a 15 to a 17? Or just money burning a hole in your pocket? Being so similar I don't see the reason for the change unless the '15 was giving you problems.
