Default traded in, 2016 for 2017.

Yes, just traded in my 2016 XTR SCrew 5.0 3.31 4x4 for a 2017 XTR Screw 3.5 EB 10spd 3.55 4x4.

It was just one of those "screw it" situations....
Not overly happy with the 6spd trans and the 5.0 motor. The 5.0 needs a 3.73 gear in my opinion. The bottom end is gutless. Towing a bass boat is a no no.

I really believe I will enjoy this new truck, and the low rpm torque peak along with the 3.55 gears.

The old truck, 300A package with tow mirrors, side spotlights, tow package.
New truck, 302A, tow mirrors, tow package, etc....

Get it tomorrow night!

Regearing wasn't an option? But I guess you got some more creature comforts and a 10 speed.

what's so funny? I got a great deal on the new truck....don't like the 5.slow.
Not gonna go through the trouble of re gearing front and rear diffs....
IF it was a 2wd, I'd do 3.73's in a heartbeat.....

Congrats on the new truck! Looking forward to a pic with the bass boat
You're spot on with your gearing assessment, you should really enjoy your new towing experience.

Not knocking you for buying a new truck. Enjoy it and post pics up. Just not sure why having to do gears up front was the deal breaker.

Congrats - Interested to hear a more detailed comparison once you get the new truck. I'm sure you'll love it!

yes, I can't wait.
The 5.0 required 6th gear locked out to tow my 19" BassCat (or my enclosed snowmobile trailer) at 120kms (70mph)....the lack of low end torque (peak around 3800rpm) really killed it.
The 5.0, although a tried and true engine, should be left to cars...
