We will know more info on Friday it seems. But I'll keep a close eye on what the union is saying. Because if there are no workers, there are no new trucks, which means I'm canceling my custom order.
Just curious - why cancel your order?

Simply because I tend to only buy vehicles that are custom orders, especially for the ones at the upper trim levels. If I were going for a lower trim level I'd probably just grab something from the lot, but if I'm getting an F 150 I'd like a very specific configuration. This is why I placed a custom order.

I would cancel because I need a truck within the next couple of months as I'm selling my current car soon. I need a truck to haul a turtleback trailer within those few months. I can't just wait around if my order goes into limbo and there are no straight answers on the status. It seems I'm already getting misinformed answers from my sales agent, so it's not looking great. I love this car, i want this car, which is why i placed a custom order. But if I can't get it in a timely manner I have to go with a plan B which involves me canceling this order.

It's vague but it does sound like Ford has a secondary supplier. It might take a while for them to get ramped up.

Ford (F -1.9%) is said to be working to shift some parts production by a supplier to Ontario as a result of the fire at Meridian Magnesium Products' facility in Michigan that caused a parts shortage.

The company says production of the Super Duty at its Kentucky truck plant was paused today due to the disruption. The Super Duty halt comes on top of delays on other key truck lines.

Here is a clip from CNBC about the issue to. More of the same pretty much.

Mike,

Thanks for the additional info. Based on what I read, I think that the manufacturer of this plant is trying to move production to their Ontario facility, not that Ford has a secondary supplier. I was literally two days away from production and this halt occurs. Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the fire.

My order has a blend date of 5/7 (past monday) at Kansas City. I keep checking COTUS but still showing 22 days till delivery (6/1)

Maybe my truck made it on down the line??

Or maybe COTUS sucks LOL
