Its still in order processing, haven't got the build date yet, but VIN shows it will be built in Dearborn. I ordered a Lariat screw 3.5, 4x4, shortbed, 502a, max tow, some other options.

Thanks! Seems like ford is listening to you. My delivery date just moved 2 days to 05/02/2018! I’m on the far west coast of Canada so I would imagine that adds some transport time.

Can someone tell me how I determine which factory my truck will be built at? I know it was posted previously but I couldn’t find it. My last truck was Dearborn.

We we do a big camping weekend the 3rd week of May it would really suck to have to borrow a truck to tow the trailer!

Well first off thank you for the warm welcome to the forums.

I was going to add both the ACC and the Tech pkg but the sales mgr told me that a few people that works there that had demos that had ACC had a bad experience that it slams on the brakes for no reason almost causing accidents. None of their of their inventory wasnt ordered with that option. What they didn't realize after doing my research when they told me that was that in the 2018 models are a much improved system. So I was thinking screw it, I really don't need it and I don't use cruise that much anyways. It would be nice to use when I'm pulling my 26ft camper so that's why I all of a sudden want it especially the stop and go feature. The truck won't be a daily driver otherwise. It will only be used for pulling the camper, and driven every once in a while when it's a sunny day. It will sit in my garage and nt be driven in the winter. If they can't add it eventhough it's already scheduled to be built then I can live without it or it can be added but the delivery date might be pushed back drastically, or maybe I can retrofit it myself and add it visit forscan.

The 11th character in your VIN.. F is Dearborn, K is Kansas City

if you look at the 11th digit of the vin, if it's F, it's being built in Dearborn. If it's K, it's being built in Kansas City which is where mine is being built. I hope you get your truck by then. Yes I know what you mean asking to borrow a truck. I hate asking people for stuff. How long is your camper?? What model and cab did you get?

Thanks Irfman!

Looks like another Dearborn rig for me!

Yeah my father in law has a 2015 I can borrow but I also hate to ask. I have a 24’ Tracer Air. My 15 5.0L screw 4x4 towed it no problem. Really didn’t even know it was there even when fully loaded. The new truck is almost the exact same just a few models higher. Both with 3.73’s. Just looking at it now I could probably tow the trailer with the wife’s Highlander although I would hate to do so!

That sales manager is an idiot (and you can tell him/her that I said that). But I guess that's why he's selling trucks (and doing that very poorly) and not engineering them. My mother in law has been using ACC in her Cadillac for a couple years now, and I've had it in an Edge for a couple months. It works. If I had it on my 2011 it's possible that I would still be driving it. Anyway, that's a discussion for another forum.

Yes, adding those features might push back the delivery date, but it's your truck, not the sales manager's. Regardless of how often you are going to drive it, you should get it with the features *you* want. Don't let that a**clown talk you into or out of anything.

(See? Now y'all got me riled up about damned sales people... and I already edited out the really bad words)

Two days and a wake-up. Clear skies between Detroit and DC for the first part of the week.

Get that thing loaded up, Jack Cooper, and start heading this way!
