I have a 2020 F150 XLT and every fall i switch and put my winter tires on. I have done the same thing for 4 years and had no issues but this season is different. I swapped tires and got an error but it's weird because if the battery went dead in 1 tire I can see but non of the wheels are showing. I drove the truck over 700 miles and never showed. Last night I parked in the garage and my summer wheels linked to the truck.
I did that process. Let all the air out if the tire in fact and it gave a message relearn failed.
Perhaps it's time to look at the sensors. Most auto repair and certainly tire shops have a device that can connect to TPMS sensors to read the battery.
I'm glad you posted this. The wife's 2020 Explorer has had all of the sensors fail within a month. Replaced 2 and then 2 more. The cold weather doesn't help, and supposedly in 2020 Ford had sensors with weak batteries. I also replaced a sensor on the F-150 this year with another one that triggers a warning when it's in the single digits. been buying them from Rock Auto (Motorcraft) and taking them to the local tire shop.
I switch over to studded snows every winter. Never installed sensors in the seasonal rims so it lights up each ignition cycle. I simply keep a check on the tire pressures manually.

Some production lots have better batteries than others. Is wrong to assume all 2020 Explorers have bad TPMS batteries. My friend has 130,000 miles on her 2020 Expedition original TPMS. Without looking it up odds are it is the same part.
