Sure, lie on the contract. Then, when it comes off in an accident, watch the insurance companies line up to support you... And law enforcement too.

I think those uhaul car haulers weigh around 2200 lbs. I towed a 93 Mercedes Wagon behind my 2.7 and it was likely right at the limit. It managed fine for the 150 miles I had to go but I'm not sure if I want to do that again.

Lol. I worked at a uhaul in college. Only way lying on the contract would come back to you is if you chose the uhaul insurance.

The reactions/responses confuse me.

I have max tow, which should deliver 12,500 tow except it's lowered if you have the moonroof to 11,xxx. Call it 11k

Max tow for 2017 models comes with 3.55 gears.

According to this:

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...odyssey+weight

The Odyssey weighs about 4500lbs.

According to this:

http://www.bigtextrailerworld.com/pdfs/70CH.pdf

Trailer weight of a trailer capable of carrying your Odyssey is 2,000lbs.

6500lbs total. That doesn't seem like a lot. What am I missing?

Thats the problem with a lot of drivers on the road is that they don't care about safety at all.

If the van isn't AWD, look at using a tow dolley from u-haul. I towed my wife's old Venza back from the dealer when I bought the F150 about an hour south during the work day and she couldn't take me.
$20 for the tow dolly, towed it down with the venza empty, then moved it to the truck and towed the venza back.

The tow dolly is like 250lbs or so, so weight wise you'll be on a supported config with uhaul.

Good thing you don't live around here. You probably would not be able to come out of the house safely. Even if trailer and van was at 7500lbs combined prettty sure the weakest 3.5 would not have a problem.

Just because the truck is capable of towing that about doesn't mean that the hitch is rated for it. All variables have to be considered. I never once mentioned anything about the engine not being capable. I prefer to live in an area where people generally have a common courtesy for the safety of others on the road than in an area where people have a blatant disregard for the wellbeing of others.

Agreed. Some people dont know much about towing. This is simple, any 3.5 eco can pull this easily and safely. Uhaul isnt the most scientific in how they rate tow vehicles. Accd to uhaul the max load is over 5k lbs. So the van and trailer will be under 7k lbs. And likely closer to 6500 lbs gross with the ody loaded.
