Default So our trucks can tell how much ethanol is in the fuel...

Well at least the 5.0 (and maybe the other FFV can too)

I've had my ELM327 for a few years now.

And I had always seen the % ethanol in fuel button. It never worked on any of my other cars. Figured i would try it in the truck.

I have a few obd2 apps that I use.
First one is engine link and the othe is DashCmd

Here are a couple of screen shots

The truck has to know the ethanol content to adjust the fuel/air mixture since it is a flex fuel vehicle. If it was not a flex fuel vehicle it would "assume" you always are running 10% ethanol.

Good call. I just paid $3.39/gallon for pure gas, 11 gallons, for my lawn equipment and quad. I wonder if they are giving me what I am paying for.

Sure would. However, since the truck is designed for Flex Fuel (5.0), the only benefit to using either E-85 or Pure Gas would be if your fuel economy or horsepower changed in an economical way. People have tested E-85 and found a huge drop in MPG, and only in a heavy corn state does the 25-30% drop in MPG pay for itself with a higher drop in price. For Pure Gas, I don't know that I've seen anyone ever post that the numbers work.

Older lawn equipment and older outboard motors can benefit from Pure Gas, but the new equipment is designed for it.

To find Pure Gas locations, visit http://www.pure-gas.org/

Many of us bought Bluetooth adapters for FORScan, interesting to know that this reading is available to be seen.

But getting one tank of Pure Gas just to see what the reading is would at least tell you that the pump is really pumping pure gas.
