Tow mirror conversion
I know this has been asked a million times but i cant find the answer on here? is there a harness to convert the 22 pin to work with the 8 pin.converting a truck with tow mirrors to regular or is it the same harness that goes the other way, meaning the 8 to 22 pin?

It can be done.
.. your going from fully loaded tow mirrors to plain jane single glass mirrors.
just an fyi, they do make loaded small mirrors, easiest way to down grade. However if you still want to go with the 8 pin only mirrors, there is 2 ways to go about it.
1st option
On both doors, depin the doorside 22 pin connector, label as you go, tape off unused pins, I would say "cut off pins" but you might want to reuse a pin or 2 in the future, get a new 8 pin connector and insert the 4 way adjustment pins for the glass.
2 pin slots will be empty on both mirrors ( you wont have the probe in the passengerside ) however, monochromatic glass ( auto tint ) on the driverside will use up the 2 slots in the driverside, you might not have this option.... I originally didnt have it on my original mirrors, the replacement mirrors did.
2nd option...
replace the window switch and the harness... its more involved but this is the correct way.
Ive gone from a regular 4 window switch upto a loaded powerfold/extend switch without issues. Dont replace either of the door modules. Current one you have will work just fine.
Some of the door modules power the powerfolding and bliss. bliss came with mine originally.
no need to use forscan for any of the options mentioned above b/c although features are active, plain jane mirrors wont use those and wont set any codes off.
Google search same year as your truck, look at the trim level and copy the vin of the one that has the mirror options you seek and order the switch and harness with that vin from taska ( cheaper the the dealer )
boost auto and 1aauto have no idea what they are talking about. I asked them about powerfolding a few years back... completely gave me a whole story... none of it was true.
