Wow , what a experience!! To the OP not all of us here are idiots. Just a few. I am glad that FMC and the Dealer did the right thing to protect you and them. Keep us posted.

Trust me ford should have wanted that truck back so they could take their time figuring out what is wrong so it won't keep happening to other trucks. It's a win win for everyone.

GM probably would have paid big bucks for that truck to use in their commercials.
Seriously, good for Ford...., and you.

I had a 2011 jeep grand cherokee, after 7 months I was driving on turnpike and the alarms and everything in truck died but the engine reved up to about 5k rpms but was barely moving scared the crap out of me and almost got into an accident. went to the dealer numerous times replacing parts and at some point a cylinder head went and that part was on order for 6 weeks so I was driving a truck with only 5 cylinders firing.

I called Chrysler saying I wanted out of the truck with all these problems happening. They said talk to the dealer maybe they will buy out the truck and Chrysler corp only offered to pay for my tow bills. I told them I was done with the company would never buy a Chrysler product again.

The dealer sort of helped me by offering a bit more for trade than what anyone else would because they said chrysler didnt care about helping them get the truck back and gave them no way to take it back without the dealership taking a loss.It ended up costing me 2k to get out of that garbage.

I am glad to see ford cares about their customers enough to wipe the slate clean at no additional cost to you. I bought a f150 the next day after I got the dealership to take the cherokee I have been a ford customer ever since.

Interesting...This happened on my 2011 Ecoboost multiple times over the course of a year. I had it towed at least 6 times. They kept getting a code that said the PCM relay was losing power. They even replaced the entire PCM. Finally they narrowed it down to a faulty connection at the fuse box, the first time they've ever seen an issue like it. They re-wired the connection, replaced the relay and the truck never had the issue again.

I guess stuff happens, glad to see Ford's making it right.

Congrats on the buy back.

I had another brand of car do something similar and like you, the first thing they did was throw a battery at it. Next trip to the dealer they flashed the ecm. Next trip was a new ecm. After raising hell and a two day dealer visit, it was the instrument cluster which makes sense when you think about what's going on inside a modern day cluster.

Hopefully there will be some better rebate money a couple months from now when that new truck arrives.

Great news! Obviously there was a manufacture issue. Rare but happens. At least they are making it right...just with some unfortunate frustration for you.

Ok, just turned 1000 miles on my 5.0 15 lariat. Tonight I started my truck that was sitting outside in 19 degree weather for 5 hours. I was heading home witch is about a 5 mile drive. While getting on the highway the truck began to bogged down I kept trying g to give it some gas and the rpms kept going down. I thought it was going to stall. I could not get the rpms to go any higher than 3k. Speed would not go over 55mph. Then a warning message came on the dic that said hill assistance not available. I thought I was going to have to pull over but I got it to limp back home. I went in the house and read my manual to see if there was something in it to let me know what happened. I thought maybe the hill assist was acting up or maybe stabilatrac had an issue. Got back in the truck to take it for another drive to see if I missed anything, and it drove just fine. I have felt the hill assist kick in a few times earlier, it felt like the brakes were being applied even though I was on level ground. I had to give it some more gas to try to release the braking feeling and even tapped the brakes so the truck would release the brakes. Anyone else have this problem.

I would suggest you start your own Thread, which will be more specific to the problem you are experiencing. Contact your dealer regarding this & additionally, provide a link to your thread to our Forum Ford Service Rep: https://www.f150forum.com/members/fordservice-47652/
