My wife and I are still debating as well.

However, I will say this. We will not purchase another "Velcro" type. After a good day in the sand, or a weekend of hauling firewood, yard waste, construction debris, plants from the nursery or even helping a buddy move. The Velcro becomes clogged and requires some reasonable amount of effort to keep clean. After about the tenth time in a few months the "Cool" factor is dead.

Not to mention that using the side rail on the bed is not as capable as it was before because the mounting kit places it higher than the rail.

I have had both. The X2 was on my 2016 and for some reason had developed little dimples down the right side but It wasn't very noticeable. Then it appeared the material shrank and separated from the vinyl and was peeling up the side. Also the cloth backing that runs down the side became separated from the heat. Glad it had a 3 year warranty because Bak replaced it with me sending in photos. I went the the MX4 this go around and it seems solid. I don't use the bed a ton so blocking the back window is fine plus the new MX4 you don't have to lay it against the window unless you need total bed usage. BTW I ordered from Luke more than once, and they are the BEST!

Keep in mind that a flush-fitting cover like the Bak models discussed is more apt to allow some water intrusion than one that sits slightly higher than the bed rails (Truxedo Titanium). That's just gravity doing its thing. I do like the flush look of the Baks though.

The Titanium is almost identical to the Lo-Pro other than the aluminum reinforcement and the tail rail, and I can say that this design does not leak. I've had 3 Truxedo covers on 3 different series F150s, and none of them has ever leaked the slightest bit.

I can see the Velcro being a possible issue for some people as 5.0 Probie pointed out. I've never had any problem with it, but I don't doubt that some people do.

I have no dog in the fight... just my observations. I think all of the covers being discussed are quality products and worth consideration.

I went with a F1 instead of X2. Better protection for back of cab when hauling larger taller items. 3 positions of bed opening compared to open or closed with X2. More dent resitance then mx4 and X2. Can't beat the price from Luke.

For 2.5 years my X2 still looks like new and works well as advertised. Drawback? none.

Getting an x2 or mx4 when tax returns come in. Trying to decide between a line-X or bed rug.

I have an X2 on my F150 and wouldn't have anything else. Had it on my last truck as well. No water intrusion issues from rain or carwash. I didn't want a cover like the MX4 for the same back window blocking reason as already stated. Got a great price from Autoplicity, thanks to their post on the vendor forum.

Two of my coworkers have also purchased the X2 for their new F150s after seeing mine. They were also looking at products similar to the MX4.

I went with the MX4.... I didn't think about the hail damage aspect of things... However the MX4 looks great on the back of the F150...

I can count on 1 hand how many times I've seen rain in my part of FL. Watch it drop golf ball size hail now.
