Default Tires!!

I've had experience with both the 18" Goodyear Wranglers and the 20" Hankook Dynapros...both OEM tires.

Talking to a few people, I've been told the tires are crap...and I should look at KO2s, Vogue something or other, or Michelin LTX's....

So far I only have a 1000 miles on the Dynapros (which didn't do well in snow)...and the Goodyear Wranglers also had crappy traction in the snow. In the Twin Cities...good tires are a must and I'm just looking for any recommendations. I'd like to preserve the size and also the quietness as well...

Any suggestions?

I haven't used them personally, but my buddy has a pair of Cooper AT3, I believe...maybe they are ST maxx/pro. Either way, they are Cooper's. He was a KO2 fan, but purchased those on a recommendation. He is beyond happy with them, and says they didn't affect road noise, or drive ability all that much.

Totally agree...stock Wranglers blow. I've had other Wranglers that were good in the snow.

For the winter months, I'm considering another set of wheels w/ better tires.

I had Cooper AT3's on my Ram to replace the cupped Crapyears after 15K. They were awesome in the snow when I lived in MI. Now I live in TX and the Hankooks work fine, but we dont get much snow here (none this season)

Between the Cooper AT3's and the KO2's...how does that aggressive tread impact ride quality? There are a lot of people saying the KO's ride no different than their OE tires. They look cool, that's for sure. I just don't want to hate them when I have to drive long distances with them.

Personally, I ran Toyo Open Country ATS & Wrangler ATS
on my old '01 F150 with favorable results.

I remember the stock Goodyear Wrangler RTS being crappy but lasted 48k miles.

I have 2013 FX4 and live in Canada where dealing with snow is our way of life for 5 months every year. I totally agree that the Goodyear Wranglers are crap for winter driving and aside from getting a fully dedicated winter tire set up, the only way to go is with the Cooper A/T3. Great tire wet or dry, winter or summer. Reasonably priced and I don't find them noisy at all. Look pretty good too.

I replaced my wranglers with KO2'S. Good tire. Quiet ride but I went E rated so you feel the difference. I don't mind that my truck rides like a truck so it wasn't a big deal for me.

Check out Nokian Rotiiva. I started running Vatiiva's (the precursor to the Rotiiva) about 7-8 years ago and haven't purchased another brand of tire since. They are a true All-Season tire that carries the "Severe Snow Service" snowflake symbol and a 50K+ mileage guarantee. Not to mention, the company holds just about every significant patent on tires.

Is the stock Hankook Dynapro an "All Terrain" tires?
