I’ve had my windshield tinted for about 3 months and it has certainly made a difference in the Oklahoma heat! I thought driving at night would be weird, but really don’t notice it - now near the distraction as the ambient lighting.

I just had mine done last week. I had 70% ceramic on the front. I can’t tell much difference from inside looking out. One negative thing I’ve noticed is my auto headlights come on when it’s the least bit overcast. It makes seeing the sync screen a pain unless I adjust the dimmer, and I have to adjust it again at night.

Let's be honest... if you have the poor fortune of a cracked windshield, the tint is the least of your concerns.
He asked for pros AND cons. Its something to think about. The replacement windshield is free, the tint is not. I tinted my last windshield on my RAM with ceramic tint. $100 for the windshield. Caught a crack and had the windshield replaced and spent another $100 to tint again. Chipped the windshield a month later. Won’t do it again

Some of these tint values are nuts! 5% on the sides and 20-35% on the windshield? And then you get surprised when you attract unwanted attention from the local constabulary...

This is the first truck where I've tinted the windshield. I also dropped the coin for 3M Crystalline, which is some of the best tint out there. I find the truck doesn't heat up nearly as quickly sitting in the sun. Paradoxically, driving at night is better... I get less haloing effects from oncoming headlights.

I do get a touch of the rainbow in the sky effect when wearing polarized sunglasses. Not enough to bother me.

70% ceramic tint on my windshield and 5% ceramic on the moonroof. You cant really tell the windshield is tinted from the outside and still have complete visibility day and night. With the ceramic tint it really helps with knocking down the heat transfer. With the windshield and moonroof being the biggest pieces of glass I went ceramic on them and normal tint on the rest of the windows. I did 20% on the front sides and 5% over the stock tint on the backs. I am really happy with how it turned out.

Looks cool but I would never do it as it’s highly illegal and I like to see at night.

I also have Llumar Air 90 and my experience has been the same. It cost me $150 extra to have the windshield tinted, and my shop only offered Air 90. If doing it again, I would have gone with Air 80 as the listed IR rejection is almost double the Air 90, with only a marginal difference in visibility. I feel like Air 90 wasn't worth the cost, that said I did notice a marginal improvement in heat rejection, which resulted in a cooler dashboard and interior, which I guess means it's doing something.

Perhaps the biggest waste of money at the time of my tinting was the Llumar Stratos tint. Don't get me wrong, its great tint, but it does not feel any different then the Llumar Pinnacle F1 tint I had on my mustang, and certainly wasn't worth the increased cost.

I had the side windows on my Sierra at 15 and did 50 on the windshield and without upgrading the headlights it was a little difficult to see at night, but during the day time it was amazing and looked great from the outside. Also was a bad look going to interviews and tests to get into LE so it came off lol

That's what it cost me too and was the only available option at my shop as well. My understanding is that the Air 80 has a bluer color cast than the Air 90. I also have Pinnacle F1 and considered Stratos. Decided to save the difference and spend it on Air 90. I would choose F1 again but not sure about Air 90 at that price.

well OK - depending on your insurnace and your deductible etc. Let's say you have a 250 dollar glass deductible. I do. So when I go to replace the glass in my 2016 explorer it cost me, wait for it, 250. Insurance picked up the rest which according the the paper was over 600 total. 450 or more was the factory correct windshield. Not the, "hey we can get you one for 120 deal" most glass shops will do to help save you money and pocket more. I wanted an original spec sound screen replacement on purpose the noise difference is amazing if you don't.

Now I've looked into window tint on that same vehicle too - and to get the windshield tinted which is illegal in my state mind you - it would cost just for the windshield 400. So that's not covered at all so tack that on top of the cost. extra crap I don't need. and with the modern solar glass doesn't do a lick of good anyway. OH but it looks cool right.

right up until you get that ticket for speeding, reckless driving, and illegal tint. and after that court appearance it's going to be the most expensive piece of plastic you've ever bought.

Side question to those that have had it done - something I wonder about. If you have a chip in windshield can they still fill it effectively with the tint on. I'd assume so but I could see stress and the jaring of the area could cause the tint to peel or bubble in that spot.
