Default Tinting cluster numbers and hashmarks

I really want to mod the cluster I bought from livnitup but I'm having a hard time. I've been experimenting on my old cluster and things aren't working so well. I grabbed some of that colored tint that was recommended on amazon but the white stuff on the backside of the gauges makes the colors come out really light. I think the tint would work great if you could get it in front of the white but that obviously ain't happening. Anybody have suggestions on what to use? I tried colored sharpies and they were a lot darker but very uneven and didn't look good. Maybe nail polish?

This is what I'm going for but the orange and blue darker.

I did some color changes on my ranger cluster when I had it. I tried paints and markers with horrible uneven results. I found some translucent type tape that worked perfectly. It was the type of tape for tail light repairs ...got it at Walmart in a variety pack with a few different colors.

I have wanted to do this and have those same gel filters saved on my ebay. Livinitup even sent me directions on getting the needles back on and set to zero but I am not brave enough to pull the trigger........lol

I bought those exact same sheets and they just don't look right. I wish there was a way to dissolve that white diffuser stuff then put it back. lol. I'm sure that would look awesome if possible though.

I'm pretty sure they auto-set to zero as long as you're close. They sweep from min to max then settle in. I *think*.

Did it last? I'm worried tape is gonna fall off in the summer heat.
