I can appreciate the 2015s received a 5 star safety rating, but a photo without the details, can only lead to speculation.

Supposing he was driving 15MPH his dash electronics went out, on his truck was yelling at him to keep both hands on the wheel and he was trying to shut it off, or his ACC was on and it said all was ok? Or his twin panel moon roof collapsed and distracting him? Nice photo but lacks detail!

One good thing we can see it seems his tires went under the trucks rear end, that may have helped some. Hopefully all pickup truck occupants were ok, as well as the First Responders.

Drive Safely and don't be over confident in your trucks ability to protect you from others or yourself.

Well anyone who deals with auto accidents and cuts people out on a regular basis knows this isn't a 15 mph wreck.

As to the other things, who knows, maybe they can pull the data recorder to find!

Here is the link where I found the pic.

As other first responders know, there is an easy conclusion to is, he wasn't paying attention to the big fire truck with flashing lights and rear ended it!

I found this because there have been to other serious accidents where fire trucks have been hit by inattentive drivers!

Yep exactly, paying attention is the key. Just last week a friend FR, was stopped in his truck, lights flashing, light bar arrow on, elevated lights up and on, while he was out removing a ladder from the roadway. He had just placed ladder in back of his truck, about 30* and noticed a car headed towards him not slowing down.

She was on her phone texting and hit the back of his truck at 65MPH! Luckily ladder was above her windshield, otherwise she wouldn't be here today, neither would my friend, as he was paying attention. He ran past her away from the collision as she struck the motor assist vehicle.

She was up and walked away, she was in Ford Escape, she did fine, the Escape served its purpose, driver safe, SUV totaled!
