After reading about this negative experience with Shawn at SSI,(I had Him tune a couple cars for Me over 10 years ago) I googled Him, and found lots of unhappy customers on many car forums.

It's not the fact he's butt hurt over it, it's the fact that the way SSI treats customers as if they were garbage.....just do a little searching & you'll find many unhappy customers, & it all stems from how they were treated & talked to. Not the way to run a business IMO.
On another note, I see you have ZX-12 as a screen name. I had a 2005 ZX-12, did some "custom" work to it. Put down 197hp to the rear wheel. Here's a couple pics.
Thanks! This summed it up perfectly.. As I stated before I would have paid the $175 had he just responded that it was more than a simple strategy update. The $175 would not make or break me. I like to try multiple tuners and I have purchased the LMS tuner, a 5 star SCT tuner, and X4 tuner with SSI tune etc. It really was not a big deal.
I will however not stand for a someone treating me like I am garbage. You can see he clearly became upset when Livernois was mentioned and resorted to insulting both myself and LMS. This is not how a professional conducts business.
After doing some research after the fact I am quite happy with NOT getting an update from Shawn and SSI. I value my engine.

Ran the truck last night, it's bone stock, just had it's first oil change. Has a 91 octane tune for our Kali crap gas, from Shawn at SSI. Can I get this logged in the 1/4 mile section? Do we still have one here, (I haven't been on the forum for a month of Sundays).
Guys, I have to say, I've had nothing but good service & results with SSI. This is my third truck he's tuned. My '12 is still going strong with tunes still in it, sold it to a racing buddy. I drag raced the crap out of it with that thing & it's still fine.

Guys, Doug ran a hell of a time here. Give him a congratulations and talk about his run and what he posted, or stay out of it. This is about his amazing run on a bone stock '15, not high school girl drama
I wanted to get my new 15 updated to a SSI tune. I gave Shawn at SSI an email inquiring about it and was told it would be $175. I inquired about this as Livernois does it for free. This is what I was told. Shawn @ SSI "You are kidding right? It's a whole different vehicle for gods sakes. Maybe you should go somewhere else" My response: "Wow that's the type of professional response you send to a previous customer that has referred numerous people to you? I simply inquired because Livernois does it for free. I have honestly never received a response like that from anyone I have ever done business with" Shawn: "Livernois doesn't do it for free. You may want to see what our 91 octane street tune runs on our forums. It will be $250 starting now and please don't compare my tunes to LMS dog****" Just wanted to give anyone interested in SSI a heads up of the customer service Shawn offers. Called LMS and Anthony was great! Free update and great service.
I'm shocked that ford didn't update your truck for free too
