Default Thinking of trading in my 14 for a 16.. thoughts?

I have a 2014 fx4 with the appearance pkg with ecoboost. And the mpg is horrible. I'm thinking on trading for a lariat with the v8 and special edition pkg. Any thoughts on ppl with the newer versions? Also anyone know a site with the proper invoice for Canadian dealers?

What MPG are you getting that is "horrible"? Did you mod your '14 with anything (larger tires, etc.)? What MPG are you hoping to get? Is the MPG the driving factor for your consideration in buying new?

I personally wouldn't trade for a mileage improvement. Generally, what you lose trading will offset any mileage benefits. And, I'm a V8 fan, but I think your mileage will be only marginally better, if at all.

19L/100km is what I'm currently getting. I see a lot of ppl claiming like 14L/100km with the new alum body with the v8.

Either a heavy foot or something is wrong if you're getting 19L/100km.

My 2014 ecoboost with 3.31 rear axle had a lifetime avg of 13.5L/100km.
A 2016 with the 5.0 isn't going to give you a huge mileage improvement...

I started seeing close to 10-11l/100km with my 2015 lariat ecoboost 3.5 with 3.55 rear (i'm at 7000 km)

even when towing my 5th wheel (9000lbs loaded) on the highway at 110-115km/h, i average between 19-20l/100km

I have 3.73 gears, and this is me making a effort to drive conservatively. Even going like 80kmh on cruise I'm getting like 14L/100km

The '16 is much lighter than the '13. I just traded from my '14 to a '16 and no regrets. Only had it a week though, but with the 93 degree temps I'm loving this cold A/C!

To the OP - only you know if the money is right. If it is, do it and don't look back. I had my '14 for 15 months and I bought it brand new. My trade price was right, new purchase price was right so I ordered the '16. A few more creature comforts for the same price...you only live once...

I traded my 14 on a 16 as well. And yes, the A/C is waaaay colder on the 16. I didnt even have to insulate my A/C lines to try and make it better.
