I have many years ago owned a S-10 Chevy and a Mazda 4X4 pickup. I am so much happier with the full sized truck no matter what configuration it is in. It is so much nicer to have some room to move. I feel like I get in it not put it on. I regularly parallel park my 5.5 SCREW and have no problems with it. I have not yet had a chance to try out the park assist.

I went from a '10 Toyota Tacoma. The F150 was considerably higher and wider. Took some getting use to, but now I love it. My local dealer have a tuxedo black XLT with the Sport package. So I scooped it up

Thanks guys for letting me that the adjustment to the F150 wasn't that bad.

Curious, Brian what cab style did you get?

I've not test driven the F150, but have the others. One concern is the size of the F150 which is the largest of the 3 that I'm looking at.

If I decide on the F150 it would be the SuperCab XLT 2wd with 6 1/2' box in either Blue Flame or Tuxedo Black. Not sure if I would do the chrome package or sport package. I like the black interior that is std in the sport pkg better then the gray interior which is standard with the chrome pkg. Not sure with the 2.7 engine which is required with the sport pkg and has the Auto Start-Stop feature.

A few questions:
Has anyone gone from a smaller vehicle to the F150 and if you have, how hard was it getting use to the larger size?

Is the factory bed liner better then an after market one?

Would you do the chrome or sport pkg?

Blue Flame or Tuxedo Black?

Any must have options?

Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks
I went from a 08' Tacoma to a new F-150 and honestly I didn't notice that big of a difference or learning curve. It was noticeably different but nothing how I thought a full size truck would be when it comes down to narrow roads and parking spots. I find it quite enjoyable. Then again, I occasionally drive a fire engine and that's a completely different world.

I don't know about the bed liner. I'd recommend a spray-in.

Sport and Chrome is a preference in looks in my opinion. I do like the look of the Sport especially in a SuperCab- If you're considering a Sienna or a Colorado have you considered a SuperCrew 4 Door? The room in there is amazing.

Blue Flame or Tuxedo Black- if you like washing your vehicle, go black. If you like washing your vehicle and you like blue, do the blue flame : )

As far as options are concerned, I agree with what many people have said- choose what you want and won't regret not getting.

Good luck

Boozedaily, Thanks for the feedback. The SuperCrew adds about $3000 to the price and after choosing options, it throws it over budget.

I love my blue flame. My favorite color is blue. Black trucks are very sharp there just harder to keep clean since I don't have much free time. First F150 I've owned and I'm very impressed with the quality. Smoothest riding truck I've ever owned! I've had s10's in the past so it could take little time get used to but it'll all work out. Once you get in a full size truck you won't want anything else! Good luck and post pics of the new whip!(if it's F150 anyways&#128077

just be careful on the width of the truck. Mainly, take your mirrors into account. When passing a oncoming vehicle on a tight busy street with parked cars ...be cautious of the extra space you need. My father smacked his mirror on another parked cars mirror as he passed. I've had a few close encounters. Also, it's usually easier to back into parking spots at the mall or other tight parking lots. Otherwise you may find yourself recreating the scene from austin Powers= forward backward, forward backward until you're all lined up.

Went from a Quadcab Tacoma (full 4 door) to the screw F150. WAY more room in the back seat of the F150

Finally test drove the F150 today. I thought that it was quiet and a smooth ride. It was a Scab, 4wd and std 3.5 engine(the salesman told me it was the EcoBoost 3.5 which he thought it was until he looked at the sticker and realized it wasn't.) .

I thought the size was going to bother me and it didn't. It seemed a little wider inside then my Astro. The hood was the part that seemed a lot larger.

There was a Chevy dealer a little down the road and figured that I would test drive the Colorado again. This time I drove a LT instead of the Z71 that I did back in October. I thought that the ride would have been smoother, but it wasn't. It seemed narrower inside then my Astro and definitely lower.

I was surprised that the F150 seemed quieter and a smoother ride then the Colorado. I probably could live with either one. I think that I want to make a decision by the end of the month or early April so I can give myself a nice birthday gift. Each one has its pros and cons.
