Default Think Ford will put the Raptor EB in the F150

Yes, I understand the Raptor is an F150 but to clarify, I mean the standard, non-Raptor F150...

So, while they share the same displacement, the version of the EB that is going in the Raptor is a more advanced engine than the one in the standard F150.

Any thoughts as to whether the Raptor version will make it into the F150 down the road? Maybe after the Raptor gets the turbo 5.0 that rumors suggest will be available in the future?

The Raptor and GT use variants of the same engine. (kind of like the Coyote in the Mustang and the F150)

I'm sure the standard f-150 will get an updated Eco-boost before long. I'm not sure the hp and tq will be the same as the raptors though, but I'm sure they will do something to it since they haven't updated it with the new generation f150 yet.

All I know is I'm excited to see what options Ford will have in 2021, which is when my truck is all paid for.

I don't think there's much chance I won't be in a raptor if it's still offered then.

Rumor is a 5.0L ecoboost is gonna become a option for the Raptor. I hope it's true because that engine will be a beast.

I suspect that an updated version of the ecoboost will be released in 2017, to coincide with the new 10sp.

Fords been pretty clear on the engine for the 2017. I doubt we will see a v8 turbo.

Yeah if they are putting the 3.5 in the Ford GT then that is all the evidence in the world that a 5.0 Eco isn't happening. The Raptor is way too low volume a vehicle to develop a 5.0 Eco just for it, and there is no reason to have one in the general F-150 line.

Maybe a 5.0 Eco in a Super Duty at some point, but that combination seems all wrong.

I am seeing other companies using the 3.5 engine as well as Ford..There was a new supercar company here in the US that will be using the 3.5..

And I thought I heard of a british car company using it as well...

The 3.5 is here to stay and Ford will make sure it has plenty of potential in the years to come..Any one in the car industry that is not handling ECO parts is making a big mistake and missing the train..

I remember when I tried to talk Cobb into making tuner for the 3.5 back in 2011..they said they had no plans for tuning the Eco 3.5...then just last year they finally released a tuner for the Focus...but still no tuner for the Eco 3.5...They missed the ship...
