Default Things to Look for upon Delivery

Reading through the forums, there are a lot of things that sometimes Ford or the dealership just plain misses. Some obvious (paint scratches), some not so obvious (passenger side has a sill plate/scuff protector, driver side doesn’t).

I’d like this thread to be a collection of “punch list” items you’ve had to give to the dealership before you’ve taken delivery (or things that you’ve caught soon after). That way, before heading to the dealership, members can look over the list and see 5ings they wouldn’t necessarily have thought of.

Take a good flashlight.

Cheers,

Door/panel alignment
Paint defects
If purchased wheel locks, make sure you have the wheel lock key.
If you have box cleats they should be under the back seat.

- Take a flashlight, hold it at low angle to examine the paint. Everywhere. Do the same with the windows and the plastic trim. No, scratches are not acceptable on your $50K+ truck. Make them fix it.

- Make sure you get all the license plate bolts.

- Have them remove the dealer sticker (unless they are paying you for advertising).

- Look for cuts in the tires

- Slam all the doors and the hood and listen for loose fasteners.

- Make sure the windows go all the way up and down and they operate at the same speed. Check the universal function.

Thanks. Did three forum searches and came up empty for those (lots of other random posts, though!)

look the truck over for hours, do not pick up in the evening. make sure the light is good. my truck has paint flaws on the front drivers fender, both doors, the bed and the door front door on the passenger side. I really don't want my truck repainted. all this was after the truck arrived from an out of state dealer that overlooked damage to the roof, that was fixed. oh and lastly the place that did the bed liner for the dealer oversprayed bed liner onto the back bumper.

Get a cold start then let truck warm up to full operating temp. Check for abnormal noises
