A "thank you?" Would have been nice.

I'd be happy to thank you, if you'd tell me what they are so I can have them fixed on my truck.

I feel great that my recommendations have made it to production, but a "Thank You" would have been nice.
You weren't that professional, more amateur if anything, you gave advice for free to a huge corporation that is in the business to make money, so unless you actually work for Ford...

Remember more than one person can have an idea too!

A thank you would be admitting that they applied your advice. They wouldn't want to admit a non Ford engineer helped them fix something.

I had a service dept tell me once that I should stay off the forums because the "guys on there usually dont know what they're talking about". Ironically, I took my truck in there once for an exhaust leak. Told them the down pipe was probably loose and to check the service bulletin on it. Sure enough, that's what was wrong, even after they missed it the first time. I told him I would thank the guys on the forums for him for solving the problem lol

I did something for someone at one point in time. I am not at liberty to discuss it, but I did it. They benefited from listening to me.

All of that, and I have yet to be recognized!!

You should have told them to paint the drivetrain.

or put some kind of rust inhibitor on the driveshaft. What awful material did they use that rusts instantly?
