I had a set of Duratracs delivered to my house from them and they actually came a day early.

Although I could have done without the delivery guy putting the tires literally in front of my front door. I had to squeeze out to move them before I could open the door fully.

I have been using Discount Tire for all my tire purchases up until I bought a set of rims from custom offset and got the tires cheaper in a package deal

Correct. I guess I should have clarified better. If you come in with a set of tires not purchased from them (i.e. your OE set or whatever is on the vehicle if it was a used vehicle purchase, etc), they will charge you a fee of (I believe $15) per tire, ONE time. From then on, you have lifetime balance and rotation on those tires. This service is included in every set of new tires purchased through them also. Doesn't matter the mileage either. They will recommend how far to go based on your vehicle, the tire, local conditions, etc, but if you ever have one suddenly sling a weight and come out of balance, you can bring it by at any time to be re-balanced. They do all kinds of tires for all kinds of applications. I needed the tires balanced on my 18' car trailer one time and I wasn't sure if they would mess with it. All they asked was "are you good at reversing a trailer?". I told them point to which bay they wanted me in and i'll see you in a minute.

All they do are tires, and they're really, really good at it.

Wish I could concur. I bought tires for my wife's Fusion a couple years back. 60k mile warranty. She had them a year and half, and tread wear was already down 60%. On top of it one of the tires developed belt separation. Discount would't honor the warranty because they had been rotated at each oil change (~7500 miles) instead of every 5000 miles.

Ridiculous. Especially since the car hadn't cause uneven tire wear, and the belt separation had nothing to do with rotation.

I went to the Tire Depot and bought new tires. Discount will never see a red cent from me again.

That's unfortunate, but also why it is important to read fine print beforehand.

DT has done alright by me. I bought a set of wheels online from a place in AZ and had them mounted / balanced on a set of tires that I bought from DT. The lugwells got pretty marred up from the socket and was very noticeable since they were satin black. The store originally refused to do anything about it, but their regional manager stepped up and had them repaired by a mobile wheel repair guy. I was a little disappointed that it took the regional manager to make it right, but I certainly do appreciate he/she did the right thing.

I also have had good service from Discount Tire. When I purchase a new vehicle I always go to Discount to buy insurance for the tires. It covers balance, flat repair and road hazard. I once had a new sport trac that I had to get 3 tires replaced at different times due to sidewall issues. They replaced them with no issue. I also bought the insurance for my daughters cars. When they brought their cars in they always treated them well. I’m a big fan of DT.
