Default Texas hail storm at 80 mph

I was driving and my buddy was videoing. Doing 80 mph when the storm hit. Put it in 4A and slowed down to 40 mph or so and was still fishtailing. Welcome to Texas.

Pea size hail and not a dimple to be seen afterward.

Default hail damge

I on the other hand was not as lucky 3 weeks ago. We had a nasty quick hail storm with golf ball hail and now I need a new roof, hood and trim and quite a bit of PDR to the tune of 8900$. Not sure I want the roof of my Screw cut off. But on a brighter note, my brother in laws 2019 Silverado right next door got almost 15,000$ damage to his high strength steel.

Uh pea size hail doesn't cause damage. I live in Kansas and we just had hail last night and will have it again 4 or 5 more times this spring. It has to be at least nickel to quarter size to cause much vehicle damage.

**** I got called to Dallas back in '95(I do PDR) cuz a major hail storm came through and some of my corporate dealer chains asked us to go there to see if anything could be done
The **** came down the size of cantaloupes-in groups of 3+-, smashed roofs in and filled cars up with water.
I remember one MBZ dealer we pulled in to, the GM came running out to us and pleaded with us to do any car we can-they were ALL totaled.
There were windshield guys camped out in parking lots with lines of cars waiting to get done, commercial signage was all ripped apart.
It was like a hail Armageddon

I live in Mississippi and we have basketball size hail 4-5 times a day. I drive 90-117 mph everywhere I go and my galvanized zinc steel alloy rusty aluminum proof plastic hood and windshield is still lubricated. My 2.7 will slowly outrun any Texas Kansas coyote volcanic cloud any day of the week, even with auto start/stop active!

He said he was doing 80 when the storm hit, I would hope he slowed down once he got into it.

Basketball? Please!!! We have Hot Air Balloon size hail here in Vegas on a daily basis. Fortunately they melt about 15' above the ground.
